Grief & Bereavement

Grief is a natural response to any type of loss, though we most commonly associate it to what we experience when someone we love dies. Grief is the process that allows us to say goodbye to what was and to prepare for that which is yet to come.

We can experience grief on all levels:

Emotional - Sadness, anxiety, worry, frustration, anger, fear, guilt ...

Physical - Crying, sighing, headaches, change of appetite, difficulty sleeping, heaviness, fatigue, pains ...

Mental - Withdrawal, detachment, isolation, disorientation

Spiritual - Questioning the reason for loss, purpose of pain & suffering, meaning of death ...

Grief is anything but predictable. It is a journey, not a destination. It is a process of healing that we must go through. The only expert on their grief is the person who is going through it.

"Grief never ends ... but it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is neither a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith ... It is the price of Love." ~ Author Unknown
