I have finally completed all the components of my Death Doula training. Looking back, thinking about all the assignments I had to work through, I am ever so grateful to the Hospice Organization who helped me by providing excellent support & training. I realize now that the hard work I put in is now just the spring board to the start of a new era for me. Gone are the days of just dreaming about what I could do with my life and how I can make a difference in the lives of others. Now, the real work begins, getting out into my community, introducing myself, starting conversations about death & dying well and sharing my services. I do struggle with those feelings of self-doubt, wondering about the reality of where I am now headed. Is this even real? Yes! I am now a certified Death Doula and it's time to put my passion & work into helping as many people as I can. Death comes to us all and I want to help people better understand how to navigate death, offering support & care during this stage in life.
